Delete your account
For Kay flow, by Chipmunk AB · Last updated 2026-08-06
This page explains how to have your Kay flow account and its data deleted. The fastest way is inside the app, but you do not need the app installed, and you do not need to be signed in — the email route below works without either.
In the app
Open Settings → Account → Delete my account. The app shows exactly what will be deleted, asks you to type a confirmation word, and then deletes your account and its data immediately. There is no waiting period and no email exchange.
You do not need to give a reason, and we will not try to talk you out of it.
If you can't sign in
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your sign-in method, or simply prefer email: write to support@kayapplication.com and ask us to delete your account. Send it from the address you sign in with if you can — it lets us match the request to your account immediately. If you can no longer use that address, write from any address and tell us which one the account uses; we will verify ownership another way before deleting anything.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in identity
- Tasks, events, routines and their steps and history
- Notes, brain dumps and reflections
- Mood and energy logs
- Your own medication list and medication history
- Labels, important dates and personal preferences
- Your profile settings, including home and work addresses and the neurotype profile used to personalise the app
- Child profiles you created, unless another parent shares the household (see below)
- Calendar connection tokens for Google, Outlook and your device calendar
- Your public sharing page, if you had one enabled
- Connections to other people, and any invitations you sent
What we keep, and why
- Accounting records. If you ever paid for a subscription, Swedish bookkeeping law requires us to keep the transaction record for seven years. It contains the payment, not your tasks or health data.
- Encrypted backups. Our database provider keeps point-in-time backups for a short period. Your data is removed from live systems immediately and disappears from backups as they roll over.
- Purchase history held by Apple and Google. Your subscription receipts belong to your App Store or Google Play account, not to us. We cannot delete them.
How long it takes
In the app: deletion happens immediately, while you watch. When the app confirms, your account and data are already gone.
By email: we action requests as quickly as we can, and always within 30 days, as required by GDPR Article 12(3). You will get a confirmation once it is done.
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought them from, and you must cancel there or you will keep being charged:
Cancel first, then request deletion, so nothing is left running.
If you share a household
If you share a household with another parent, deleting your account does not delete their side of it. The household, the child profiles, the children's medication lists and history, school schedules and shared lists all stay with them, and ownership of the household passes to them. What we remove is your own private data and your membership.
If you are the only person in the household, everything in it is deleted with your account.
Events already sent to your calendar
If you connected Google Calendar or Outlook, events Kay flow created there belong to your calendar, not to us. Deleting your account releases our access, but it cannot reach back into your calendar to remove events. Delete them in your calendar if you want them gone.
